Planned Giving

What Will Your Legacy Be?
Whatever inspires and motivates you about EMDR, you can shape its future by supporting the  EMDR Research Foundation with a bequest. A bequest is a gift of estate assets designated  through your will, trust, or other estate planning document. By making a bequest to a non profit organization like the EMDR Research Foundation, you may qualify for an estate tax  charitable deduction, potentially reducing the tax burden on your family. Most importantly,  including the EMDR Research Foundation in your estate plans ensures that your legacy will  advance the scientific study of EMDR for future generations.

How to Make a Bequest

While bequests are simple to arrange, it is strongly recommended that you consult with your  lawyer, financial planner, or other qualified professional to ensure your wishes are clearly stated  and comply with the laws of your state.

You can structure your bequest in several ways: it may be for a specific dollar amount or a  percentage of your estate, or it can consist of the "residue"—what remains after all other gifts  have been distributed.

You may also gift assets such as real estate, publicly traded securities, closely held stock, paid-up  life insurance policies, or other valuable property.
